Wanted a pup out of Hooch for two years now and finally got the one we wanted.

We love him the kids are trailing with him now. How long does it take to get bigger?

We are excited to see him grow.

We will send pictures of his progress thanks Gary and Judy for the wonderful puppy we love him

Want to tell everyone what great people to work with no problem shipping the dog he got here on time.

We took him right away to the Vet and our Vet was pleased with the quality of the puppy and all shots were up to date and dew claws were removed we were happy with no problems.

Thanks To Mountain Crest Bloodhounds

we are with the K-9 division of Western Pa we have one of your pups

We wanted to tell you how great she is doing. She has rescued 4 victims of a house fire. Three people were trapped under the roof and she located them before they expired. She has been honored with the trophy of the year award for search and rescue. Just to say thanks Mountain Crest for your upstanding Breeding program and putting out some great trackers.

Thanks

Hello Judy,

We purchased your last puppy at Jays lastweek. She has been a fantastic puppy so far, with a lot of sign of being very smart. My kids named her Willow and she has accepted her new home quickly. She loves our pond and trails through the woods, and chases the quad with my other 2 dogs. We couldn't be happier with this beautiful puppy...

Thank you so much for your hospitality,

Sweet Sweet Sweet is all we can say about our dog Fred He is the greatest. Now he is 2 years old and starting to fill out like you guys said he would. We started him out on Diamond dog food (Your Recommondation) and it does do well. We are starting him in SAR at this late age. And he is picking it up fast. We entered him in many dog shows, Judy you won't believe it but he wins most of them with little or no compitition. We couldn't ask for a better dog we get so many compliments thanks for the decaticated breeding you guys do there.

Of course we recommend you highly

We are going to buy another puppy from you soon we will keep in touch.

Thanks again Laura and Jeff Bridges from San De Calf

Merry Christmas Mountain Crest Bloodhounds

From the Family of Ellen and George Benjamine from Elkhart Ind

Thanks for the great dog she is the best. We have her as a home plant LOL She is the sweetest and loving girl. We have a new van and she takes one whole seat. The kids love her and she is one enormous part of our family. She loves to go boating and fishing. I'm not sure who is the fisherman though. She picks up the poles and trys to fish with the kids. It"s so cute to watch. She is such a joy to have as a part of our family.

We wanted to say thanks and Merry Christmas to all of you there

Hi,

My name is Donna Magalski. I purchased a bloodhound male, (the biggest male you had at the time) approximately 3-4 months ago.

I absolutely love him, and this is not a email to complain.

What this is an email for...is to thank you and brag. If you go to www.animalplanet.com, and click on puppies vs. babies competition, they will ask you to vote 1-10 on the cuteness of puppies.

One of your puppies, my beloved teddy, was chosen as one of the 50 contestents to vote for. He is almost at the end, and is the only bloodhound.

Thank you for such a fine boy, and I would love if you could please go on and vote for him.

Thank you so much,

Donna Magalski

He really is beautiful is such a gentle giant. He is great around toddlers and babies too. They seem to love the way he slobbers - just like them! I think he is pretty much out of the gangly teenage stage. The vet said his weight is perfect - he is just a little over 100 lbs. He now howls on command, people think it is so funny, the kids escecially love it. Havin a bloodhound is like having a live in commedian! He makes us laugh daily.

First of all I want to thank you for the puppy we purchased at Jay's Sporting Goods in Clare on June 18th of this year. I will admit I was quite frusterated the first few weeks as the dog was smarter than I was used to any puppy being. And sometimes an overly smart puppy is a dangerous thing! However, he has settled into our home and family nicely, enjoying the time with our daughter and other dog. I am wondering the exact birthdate of the dog. (He is the beautiful tan male now named Remington.) I was given his health and shot records when we got him but it doesn't give the exact date of birth.

Hi Gary and Judy

Our male out of Hooch and Sissy at 6 mos old already weighs 90 lbs.

We named him Jacob and he fits the bill. He is an outstanding dog and very smart. He towers over our other dogs by lots. WE keep him in the house surprisely he doesn't shed at all.

We are very glad we bought him from you people. we didn't know there was such a thing as good quality dogs. I remember we hesitated on your price of the puppies but after seeing the quality of this dog we are very happy we did.

Thanks to all of you at Mountain Crest for the quality kept in the breed.

Faithfully yours

Hi Judy! I just wanted to tell you thank you so much for our sweet little Odin. (dark tan and liver male) from your most recent litter. He is the most amazing dog ever. We fall more and more in love with him everyday. When the kids wake up in the morning he goes running over to see them like he has not seen them in forever. When my husband gets home from work everyday Odin goes running to him and mauls him with puppy kisses and follows him all around the house. We took him to the vet 2 days ago and everyone there instantly fell in love with him. The vets assistants stole him from me and took him to the back to show him off to all the other employees there. He is the healthiest puppy we've ever had. Everywhere we go Odin is a hit. He is so smart. He's like having another person in the house. You have done a wonderful job at breeding these bloodhounds. After 6 months of researching bloodhounds and breeders there is no doubt in my mind that you have bred the highest quality of bloodhounds in the U.S. We cannot thank you enough for our sweet little guy. Thank you for such a great addition to our family. I'll keep in touch and send pictures as he grows.

Judy

Don't worry about one comment. Have you ever watched a coon hound hunter? They turn out the dogs to run with collars on (too lazy to get out of their trucks) They could care less about the dog much less the animal they are chaseing. And they call that hunting? It's a lazy man's sport.

We are with you. Never met any two people who are more liked than the two of you and that includes your dogs.

Keep up the good work all the people are counting on you both to keep the lines clear.

My name is Alfred T Linstrom from Alberta CA

Now Iam almost 83 years old and my dog and I are getting up there where we don't have much longer on this earth . Our birthdays are on the same day only he won't admit to it.

My Grandson is helping me write this cause my eyesight is poorly and Rosco P. Coaltrain can't write so i know it's ok with him I speak.

Now Rosco is almost 17 years old and he's my old buddy. I read the crap on the internet and that's just what it is.

If I wasn't as old as Iam Id buy me another dog from you guys

I remember when you started out and I see the quality of your dogs has improved in the last 20 years.

I told lots of people about you and they have bought lots of dogs and not one ever complained to me about them.

Some people just want to start trouble.

Well I just had to put in my two cents and get back the change.

Don't always believe what you read cause some people just like to cause trouble.

When I was a child I'd go down thee local diner buy a hot dog and soda for 25 cents. Ol'e Shep and I would walk to thee nearest Shade tree and set there in the cool of the evening sharing conversation about our dreams to come. Today Buford and I still go to thee ol'e shade tree. The store is long gone and thee prices have steeped but we still find time to talk about thee dreams of yesteryear. I lost my wife several years ago and I thought I'd never find another wife or companion that would love me again. I snore and complain ever day to which my wife would ignore. She was a saint But I found another companion who does the same. Only this one washes my feet when thee tired, licks my ears , and washes my face when it's dirty, and takes thee pain out of my arthritic hands in thee evening. I fell one day and he was right there pickin me up. His steady legs helped me stand again. He never budged til I needed support, stood there while I grabbed his back. He knelt down and stood up given me a hand. Al't thee while he just knew what I needed. He sets with me ever day and listens to my memories of my wife and grandchildren, he ain't never complained about my cooking, my smell nor my mess in thee house. We lay around smellin thee new rain and watch'in thee trains as they pass by on hundred yer old tracks. I and him are companions, buddies. We're making history together. what a kind and gentle soul Thank you for giving me thee opportunity to have such a special boy. love thee bloodlines Sincerely Harland T. Adams Crab Orchard Tenn

I can't believe you put all of his pics up on your website. He is such a cutie. You get all the credit. You've done an amazing job breeding and raising these bloodhounds. When we purchased Odin we fully planned on only having him as a pet and getting him fixed when he was about 6 months old. After having him here and seeing how amazing he truly is, and speaking with you a few weeks back we decided it would be a shame to not at least breed him once. I also would like to put him in shows when he's a little older and see how he does. This is all new to me so I'm not sure where to start. For years I've always said when my kids got a little older I wanted to show and breed basset hounds. After getting Odin I wish I always owned bloodhounds. They are such great dogs, and so smart. I truly give you all the credit. He is top quality, sound and healthy. That comes from you as a breeder! Thanks again. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Great Job Mountain Crest!

Your Dogs are winning the Sate and National Tracking In South Dakota and Montana.

The Mountaineer Club is very impressed with the stablity and stamina your dogs bring to event.

Determined yet capable of understanding commands and nothing short of intellengent animals

It represents the Breed with high standards and we felt as a club you needed to know as well as any potential buyer of a Mountain Crest Bloodline.

Thanks for the dedication of your standards in breeding and the bloodline making our Tacking events for what they are today.

Anyone who would question this should take a look at the dogs produced from your facility.

Hi

You probably don't remember us but we are the couple who purchased a dog from you five years ago from Chicago Ill. We wanted to tell you how happy we are with our Henry. At first we wondered how well he would work out in a small apartment here in metro Chicago but it works well. He loves people and he is so layed back the apartment works well. We walk him daily in the Park and he gets the chance to play with other dogs. He is such a joy to have in our family. We are interested in purchasing another from you soon. we will be in contact shortly.

Just thought you'd like to know . Oh yes my husband wants to tell you he is a healthy horse. and huge!

Your ad vertisements do not do justice to the size and quality of your dogs we are proof to that.

Thanks to you both Judy and Gary

We will be talking to you soon

Respectfully yours

Can't let South Dakota or Montana show us up . We are winning in WA State too. 23 Mountain Crest Dogs are on the SAR team. This is a huge amount of one breed and it wasn't necessarly planned. We are the division of 5 states and it just so happens your dogs are top Team members. Out of 40 directional classes your dogs are taking the top 10 leagues. This is straight hauling track and scent. We are inviting you Judy and Gary to come out and watch our Events. We start in May and end in Sept.

Nationals are starting again in June and that's when you can bring your Hooch to compete.

I will call you later next week to give you Calendar of Events

To who all

No one says the truth about Bloodhounds. I read the comments about aggression and how the bloodhound will wander away from you and be gone for hours and this is not true. We have a small yard and our bloodhound stays at home with no fence. She might go to the mail box and I tell her no she comes back. Its all in the training. These dogs are smart and they know right from wrong.

Wow, you folks know your stuff on these amazing hunters and dogs. I remember Our ol' Radar dog next door sitting out in the pooring rain howling at the night of the moon as if he was waiting for something, a hunt a fear~ "anything" and then hours later after the storm youd see him raceing around the yard so excited and so alone. Nieghbor kids would tease ol' Radar cause he would drool and be so diffrent. Well, these dogs are amazing with such great offerings to us humans in life. I wish as a little girl I would have thrown sticks right back at those other mean nieghbor kids. I remember coming home just drenched in Radar lovins.... and mom use to yell at me for hanging out with the mean boys in the neighborhood, little did she know it was my love for bloodhounds. and I would sneak over to Ol' Radars house to play! I give you caregivers and breeders so much credit for opening your hearts and homes to this breed of dog. They are most likely not for everybody, but this I know they are for me!!! Bless all you hound lovers! And I only wish and pray that I will be one too, someday!!!!

Hi guys! Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you with pictures Ms. Flo. She is so comical and has such a personality, she brings a smile to every person she sees. She loves to play with the kids, and get into the typical puppy mischif on her own. talk about a lover and a cuddiler too she loves her morning snuggle sessions with the kids before they leave for school and she waits for the bus with them at the end of the driveway every morning. She enjoys rides in the car as well as swimming at our lake cottage, she is a natural at that. I will send you a few pics in another email. oh she just had a check up yesterday and is 51.6 lbs at 5 months. the people at the vets office just love her. We want to thank you for your prompt response to our puppy . We absolutely love her. We named her Tar Baby she is so dark and we love her markings the kids thought of her name so cute and fits. She is so funny and entertaining. Clumbsy and awkward stumbles over her ears.

Thanks Judy and Gary for your hospiltality without it we couldn't have made the trip. Come hunt with us anytime soon..

Hi Judy,

I finally had a second to send you an update on the dogs. This past week was the last week of school before summer break and it is always the busiest craziest week of the year...

Frigg is doing great. She is so sweet. She is also very busy...oh my goodness. She's doing great with her potty training. She's only had one pee and one poop accident. Not bad. She still is sleeping with us at night and is now only waking us up one time a night to go to the bathroom. She also already goes to the door when she wants to go out and go potty. WOW! We are so impressed with her, as Odin was not this easy to potty train.

She climbs the porch stairs to get in and out of the house...Odin didn't do this until 8 weeks of age Frigg's got it down at 5 weeks. She also climbs and jumps from everything. I think she thinks she's an acrobat..LOL.

She is very scared of loud noises..when the neighbors dogs bark she goes running and hides under my legs, or if we're out front and a car is coming she runs and hides behind us also. Where as Odin is totally fearless. Nothing scares Odin, but he also is not as rambunctious as Frigg. They are complete opposites and yet they compliment each other perfectly.

We thought Odin was funny, but let me tell you watching the 2 of them together is hysterical...we laugh so hard it brings us to tears! We enjoy these dogs so much. We feel so blessed to have them. They are so wonderful and amazing.

We can not thank you and Gary enough. You guys are hands down the best Bloodhound breeders. You have exceptional customer service, and I know that should I ever have questions or concerns or just want to share a story about the dogs with you all, that I can call and you always make time to listen or answer my questions. Your dogs are amazing because the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

We'll send pictures soon! Thank you so much again. You guys are amazing!!

Just wanted to send you a photo of one of your puppies which we bought this time last year. His name is Teddy...The-ADORE-able. He turned 1 year on May 11th and we took his birthday photo.

Thank you again for such a great dog. WE LOVE HIM - even though he has a mind of his own.

Sincerely,

Hello Judy

I just wanted to personally thank you so very much for the puppy we purchased from you this past week. He is the perfect little addition to our family. Everyone who has seen him just thinks he is the cutest little guy, and I gave your website out to a few friends that might be considering themselves. Our kids just adore him, and when he is not being loved on by them, he likes to chase around our two house cats. Mikes brother in-law, who is a K9 police officer, threw the thought of training him for search and rescue out there. But I think he is going to be Mikes hunting buddy. Either way he is already spoiled rotten. And after only 2 nights made himself a nice little spot at the end of our bed. He is a beautiful puppy with an amazing personality. Thank you again..I?ll be sure to send some pictures in the near future!

God Bless

Hi Judy and Gary

We purchased a dog from you in 1999 and we still have her. Bridget is her name. The Vet says she is getting a little arthritis but has experienced little pain. We wanted to express our sincere gratitude to both of you for the many years we have had with our girl. Everything we read says bloodhounds are a short lived dog but she is proving them wrong. We have talked many times discussing the possiblities of your breeding that makes the difference. We feel it is and so does our Vet Carla.

Thank you for careing and giving us the best bloodhound out there. She has more than met our expectations and you and Gary have always recieved our calls of questions beyond the normal with such grace. Thanks so much for our Bridget she is and will always be the best part of our family.

We are going to tell you about our Tilly.

She is the best dog we have ever owned. She weighs 150lbs and 36 inches at the shoulder. Have you ever had one of your pups get this big? She loves to swim in our pool and she is fuch a funny actor. She knows when to fetch or play. She knows when to ask for a treat. We have never used a leash on her.

She stays with us always. We love her every min of every day and she shows her love to us. Your bloodhounds are the best.

We promised to send you some elk meat and it's coming. Last fall we took 4 bulls and one cow in our crew of 12 hunters. Over all we did well. When are you two coming out again. Don't tell us you are full of meat> > Leggin's is doin swell he is top dog out here. Capsized 14 other dogs in competition this year already. His size is what's doin it. He plows over all the other competition . The combination of strength and nose makes this dog unique and hard to beat. Fellows can't believe what he can pull. Earns his breakfast for every hunt and game trapper who hires us.

Come out again and hunt with us bring your big guys along they are always welcome. There's some guy's we'd like to give a show like last time (Remember) the jaws are still hanging with the likes of your dogs testing.

We have them made by the Amish.....Harness makers...

We take each dog in and and have him fitted....Then each harness is taged for identity of that dog...

They are much stronger and wider than the harnesses in the store and covered with sheep wool...

They work great and we don't have to worry about stress points on our dogs bodies..

Thanks for asking

Hi Judy,

How is everything going?

I wanted to send you a quick update on our babies. They went to the vet this past week. Odin is weighing in at 75lbs and he is just shy of being 6 months old, Frigg weighed in at 17lbs. at 8 weeks old. They are both growing like weeds.

Frigg is starting to lighten up quite a bit now. Her front shoulders and back legs have tan coming in under the black. She has perfect markings for a black and tan. We couldn't be more happy with how she is turning out. She is still just as rambunctious as ever... She has choosen my husband as her favorite. Every time he's around she gets this sparkle in her eye.. Her potty training has been going great. She's been easier to train in that area than Odin was. All though Odin was pretty easy too.

They are both happy and healthy and doing wonderfully! We get so many comments on the both of them. People see them and just fall in love with them. Everyone who works at the vets tries to steal them from me. Especially Odin now because of his personality...he is just a lover!

I will get some pics of them emailed to you in the next week or two. I hope you and Gary are doing well.

Talk to you soon,

Good to know - we will have to get one of those harnesses if we want him to pull logs. Just been using this one to give him a bit of freedom to roam, guess it works good for that and is why he can't run away with the smaller logs. He really does have nice colour and is so healthy. We were so lucky to find him! Thanx again for helping bring him into our home. He is a perfect fit. You can post the photos you think are best and I will send you some more as time permits, we have a real rollercoaster summer ahead of us.

My girlfriend in the picture I sent found out how strong he really is, shortly after the photo was taken, Bo had her running and we had to assist to keep her from being drug through the bush! She is such a tiny woman, I think Bo just may weigh more than she does! We had a 1 yr and 2 yr old there and Bo was so gentle with them both. He let the baby pull all his wrinkles and stick his fingers up his nose. We had quite the comical weekend - a hound is always good for that.

Our friends just adopted the chunky shepherd a week ago. She had been raised in a small duplex with no yard. Between Bo and Bubba pestering her constantly to play, she lost about 5 lbs in 4 days!

Web sites and yours is the most informative out there. It shows you really care about the dogs you breed. They are more than just the money you make. Other Breeders are just interested in the money you can tell by what you guys call gimicks it's true.

We feel when you by a dog it should be yours. It's plain to see this is what you practice also.

Can we see your dogs again?

I love my dog he is nice. he loves kisses but I don't. I make him sit and lay down. He doesn't always listen and I get mad but he is my best dog ever.

I need to tell you guys I am going with my Grandpa to hunt deer this fall

I'm going to take my dog with me. He likes to give kisses I want him to stop and look for deer.

Can you tell me if he will ever stop giving kisses? It's embarssing and Grandpa says he will kiss the deer too.

I am 6 years old and I need him to stop kissing.

Can you please tell me how to train him to stop kissing

Grandpa says you might know how to train him

I love Moochie and he is the best dog but i don't like his kissing but my little sister likes it. she laughs and loves to crawl on Moochie's back

I know he will be my best dog ever if I can stop his kissing

My fiance purchased Peaches for me as a birthday/anniversary gift in June and she came to us in July after we returned from Germany. Our baby girl had the last of her puppy shots today and weighed in at 40 pounds. She was only 18 when we got her, man is she growing like a weed. She is the sweetest dog ever and absolutely loves everybody. She's very smart but very stubborn with her training. She knows shes cute and can get away with a lot! Were hoping to start training her to track come fall time. She loves to use that powerful sniffer of hers! We love her to death and cant thank you enough!

Once in a while we get a funny story and here is one I'm sure all Bloodhound people will enjoy as was told to us...

Our Maybelle loves to ride in the car so we decided to take her to the local pet store.

It was a rainy day so the first thing she discovered was a mud puddle outside the door of the car walked over and layed in it.

After cleaning up most of her fur mess we continued dripping to the doors of the store.

She had to touch the glass door with her wet nose and there were streaks all over the glass.then shake all over the entrance to release what extra water and mud she had left on her coat.

After all she wanted to look nice going into the store. Right?

We finally ventured into the store and she spotted the Birds cages, we dashed to the cages like there was a fire and I felt I was on skis as the water dripping off May and her pulling the leash.

Sometime later after satisfying her curosity of the birds she decides to investigate the whole store aisle after aisle. She stared at a golden retriever for 15 seconds and decided right then she had to meet him.

We imediately flew to the dog as I was trying to apoligize to his owner. May decided she talked enough and turned around smacking the dog in the face with her tail. This of course set the Golden off and we almost had a fight on our hands but due to May's sweet nature she shuffed it off and on to the next adventure. She found the treats of bones etc. and sampled every one with her nose grabbing a pigs ear and decided to carry it around with her. She then saw another dog and we flew to the next aisle. She was so excited she was wagging her tail profusely cans of cat food started falling off the shelves the more she turned the more cans cleared the shelves.

I was busy trying to pick up the cans when she decided to go back to the bird aisle. You guessed it a whurl wind of cayous the bells I heard ringing things clanging and dropping.

A store clerk came over and said..." A little excited about coming to the store huh?" "You know we have Obedience classses every week maybe you'd like to join?"

I was ready to tell the guy where to stick it. When Maybelle decided to lay down and eat her pig's ear. I stood there for a few minutes and said "Come May lets go". I had forgotten to get some dog food the same reason I came there in the first place. She would not budge. I pulled on her leash and she was determined to finish her treat.

I dragged her a foot across the floor spread out like a turtle. she looked up at me once as if to say "I not leaving yet"

"Come on Maybelle" I repeat myself.

She finally gets up walks up to me sets down looking me in the face with those sad eyes, reaching over to my hand and starts kissing me.

How can you resist that.

For all the things I put up with this dog she turns around and gives me the most love I have ever gotten from any dog I have ever owned.

God I love this Bloodhound! If I could have a dozen this is the dog breed for me.

I'm sure others can relate I wanted to share this with you Judy . Thank you for our Maybelle she is now 10 years old and doing very well and many more years to go.

Hi

So many thanks for our Bloodhound she is wonderful. At your advise she is doing much better on the tracking. We did recover the lost Moose. It was funny how she found the moose instead of tracking the trail she made a streight shot over the water and located it before we could get the boat in the water. Great dog thanks for the opportunity to train our dog with yours.

When we are all settled in Hunting camp and surrounded by all those slobbering wet goof offs tromping over us like we are a bump in their road...or pushing, shoving us, tripping us, stomping on our feet till we fall on the ground with laughter...

Then... 5 at a time will head to the lake and come back completely douche us with a ray of showers....and at the same time engulf us with licks of affection...

When we go to our little aluminum boat for a quiet cruse around the lake and 10 Bloodhounds come running and jump in at the same time and you watch as your boat slowly sinks to the bottom of a 40 ft lake..... we turn to each other and say " Yes Honey it's worth it"...This is why we raise Bloodhounds!

Here's another story we recieved on Nov. 1st 2012

Hi Mountain Crest

We'd like to say how much we appreciate what you do for us with our million questions a year. We know you try to keep everyone informed about the Bloodhound and hopefully they appreciate the time and money it takes to produce the quality of dogs you sell. Anyone who reads this should know Gary or Judy will stop just about anything going to answer the questions you have. we know, they do it for us all the time..

We bought a male puppy from you in 2008 than we purchased a female from you in 2009

The two of them are inseperable. They do everything together. We decided to take them for a walk a typical day nothing special or ordinary.

We live in Northern California with the mountains and trees streams etc.

It was near dawn . The two dogs were scenting every smell when we heard a growl to the left of the trail.

We were stuned by the sound and I don't think the dogs noticed at first.

Jeff and I were looking at each other when Heather our female pick her head up and in moments Bucket our male turned towards the sound.

There stood a huge Brown bear upright on his back feet looking at us. The two dogs circled back around us and came together in front of us . They were in the protective stance the dogs were not going to let the bear come to us. Bucket started advancing towards the bear and Jeff told him no. Heather didn't wait she passed Bucket and started barking at the bear then Bucket went with her, both crept towards the bear. jeff and I were so scared we didn't dare move. When the bear saw the dogs were coming towards him he ran off. the dogs chased him for just minutes but what seemed an eturnity to us then came back without us having to call them. We were quite surprised . We feel they saved our lives. They came back untouched and happy like Mom Dad what's next for the day. We were shaking and nervous we couldn't finish the hike. These dogs are brave and willing to put their lives ahead of us. We have always read they are loyal and trusting but to witness them in the act we can never imagine ourselves without our bloodhounds Our love for these two grow more each day.

Thanks for our two best friends in the world or as you would say (our best two pack mates)

Sincerely Jeff and Mandy Willington

Merry Christmas

We love to read the comments and are on your web site frequently.

Here is one of our's my family wanted to share with your readers.

In Dec of 2001 we bought our first Bloodhound from you . We named her Clamity Jane which suits her to a tee.

Clamity is a huge part of our family you might say an eternal member. She and my husband were very close. My husband died Last night Nov 1st 2012 of Cancer.

He's had cancer for about 4 years and struggled many times with his life d becoming bed ridden the last 4 months . Clamity and he were close partners. She would walk to the mail box every day with Fred and they were a handsome couple going to the local store for groceries and always the comment of the town.

When he became bed ridden we knew he was on borrowed time. but Clamity knew it first before any one else.

She was and is the most loyal dog. She remained by his side until he was gone. We literally had to peel her away to get her to eat or potty. We once forced her to stay out side to get the morning sun for her benefit. but soon opened the door or the screen would have been off. she ran to his room and layed by his side. He would quite often make different noises and she would climb carefully up on his bed to be by his face to listen to his breathing.

An amazing and most loving animal she is.

She new the moment he passed and let out a blood curdling howl, everyone came running. She layed by his bed during the funeral and several weeks after.

We have a new Grandson born Dec. 10th 2012 and Clamity loves this baby. She goes back and forth to the bedroom he died in to the living room where our new grandson lays. It seems she is trying to tell my husband's spirit to come and see the new baby.

We go to the grave site once a week she runs ahead to the site. She knows where he is burried.

Our grief is passing slowly the new grandson helps and christmas coming we are trying to celebrate the way my husband would want.

We bought Clamity a bone. as soon as she entered the door she ran to his room bone in mouth and layed by the side of my husbands bed.

Finishing she took a small piece ran over to the crib of the baby and dropped it in. We all stood there in disbelief . She is an amazing dog and we love her very much.

Thanks for letting us share our story

Sincerely

Mrs Fred Otrovinski of Minn

Merry Christmas to all of you. I just wanted to let you know that we are a PROUD owner of one of your bloodhounds, teddy, or Theodore when he is doing something he should'nt. And trust me, he knows the difference in names! Teddy was voted on as one of Animal Planet's 50 most adorable puppies, and has since grown up to be quite a handsome boy!

However, Teddy's luck ran out a couple of months ago. As we were having our grass cut, he and his friend doobie were running like idiots around our yard. Teddy rounded the corner, and slipped, sliding right in the path of a skag mower. He caught himself, and spun his head, but his nose went right into the mower deck. It was the most horrible thing I experienced. He yelped, and got up, and ran and sat down. We immediately called the vet, and took him in. They informed us that he had severe damage done. His nasal cavity was crushed, teeth were broke, and his pallet broken every possible way. This is very hard for me to write about it, but I will continue for a reason. They suggested we take him immediately to a emergency care specialist to have everything wired back together. It would cost THOUSANDS. We then asked the vet, would it be possible for it to heal on its own since fractures do. She said honestly, she would give him a couple of weeks to see, so she put him under and stitched everything back together.

We brought him home that night, and monitered him closely. He was out of it, but never once, when he came to did he cry or moan. We fed him a soft diet but by day 3, he wanted to eat more than mush. It is now, about 2 months since the accident, and he is as ornary as ever. His nose was not anything anyone could bear to look at, but today, you cannot even tell that something happened. We took him back to the vet per her request, and she was in total amazement at how he healed and never lost a pound thru the whole ordeal. She said that was one of the toughest dogs she has ever treated, and that should we ever want or have to get rid of him, please call her. She was in love head over heals with him along with everyone on the staff.

So, there is a reason I continued and a happy ending to boot. He is one tough cookie and I wouldnt give him up for the world. He is, by far, the most loving, strong, hillarious dog I have ever owned. By now, he must be so sick of me telling him what a good boy he is (and not even fixed) and every night, sits down next to my husband or myself waiting for his nightly kiss goodnight. Thank you mountaincrest for an absolutely amazing dog....my teddy bear....or TBONE for short.

Hi Judy,

Wanted to pass on this tracking story:

I was bowhunting the other night, had a big doe and a small doe come in. I shot the big doe, it went 50 yards and dropped.

I waited hoping the second one would come back, it did. Took a shot, it wasn't a real good hit, and it ran off with my

Illuma-knock high in the deer. When it ran off, it jumped the first deer and dropped the arrow. I saw where it ran off and

knew it would be a tracking job on the second deer.

I went home and got Mr. Wrinkles and my son, Tom. He found the first deer with no problem. I thought the second one

would be a short track, also. I didn't bring his tracking collar or backpack. I put him on the second deer's blood trail and

off we went. After a half hour of being drug through the cattails and briars and stickers, I told my son I needed a break and

handed him the leash.

Wrinkles wasn't ready for a break, took off and ripped the lead out of Tommy's hand and was gone deep into the cattails.

It's late and dark, can't see or even hear the dog, so we both took off in different directions looking for the dog. After another

hour Tommy hears the dog howling in the cattails, he caught up to the dog, grabbed his leash and heads to the trail. We were

both so relieved to have the dog back we forgot about the deer.

We went back to the first deer and hauled it back to the house. When we had time to think about it, we realized Wrinkles

found the second deer, that's why he was stopped in one spot so we got his tracking collar on and headed out again.

Started with the same blood trail, off he went again, through the cattails and briars and stickers. We reached the point

where Tommy found him, but no deer, lots of blood.

Wrinkles found a new trail and off we go again. After ten minutes or so he seemed to have lost the scent so I dropped the

lead. He starts howling and takes off like a bat out of the dark place. All I can do is keep track of him on the GPS. When

I catch up to him, he is going toe to toe with the wounded deer. The deer is charging Wrinkles and Wrinkles is charging

the deer. I circled around behind the deer and the deer turns and charges me. I grabbed it by the neck, threw it to the

ground and stood on it's neck, all the while Wrinkles was going balistic.

It's at this point I realize that I have no knife, the deer isn't dead, and Wtrinkles has lost his leash and regular collar so I have

no rope. I called Tommy on the phone, he's lost in the cattails and is having a hard time finding his way out. Finally he

heard the dog and came to help. He stood on the deer while Iput my belt around Wrinkles' tracking collar and attempted

to lead the dog away from the deer. I got about 10 feet from the deer when Wrinkles turned, pulled me off my feet and

drug me back to the deer.

Second attempt I finally got him turned around and started back to the house. Halfway back I can hear a pack of coyotes

sounding off, seconds later my phone rings, it's Tommy, "The coyotes are coming, the coyotes are coming, can I leave

the deer?" I told him no, just sit there, turn your flashlight on, they'll know your human and won't bother you. He said

okay, if you say so. (Tommy is 33 years old.)

We were able to recover the deer after about a 4 hour adventure and Mr. Wrinkles was beat, it took him another

day to recover, he actually fell asleep in the livig room on his cushion, something he's never done.

He's tracked 16 deer and found 12, some were easy, some were after lengthy trecks. Oldest successful trail was about 48 hours.

He's really taking to it well.

I've attached a picture of Wrinkles pulling a 187 lb. buck that he recovered down a hill on his sled. More pictures to come when we

figure out how to send more than one at a time.

Hope you had a Merry Christmas --

Happy New Year!!!!!

Thank you and Happy New Year Gary and Judy

We took our little Pepsi to the Vets right after you found him for us and he is doing fine. The Vet told us he might have a little hypthermia and he put him on antibotics but on the whole he will recover with little damage.

We can't thank you enough for finding him one more day the Vet said he would have lost the fight to live.

Hooch deserves a hug and kiss more than he got that day.

We know it was an inconvience for you to come over but we can't thank you enough

Happy New Year

We are so happy with Leopold and Remington. We bought them in 2009 and they have grown up in our family. The comics of these two dogs are unspeakable. We have never loved any dog as much as these two. Our family and the whole state of California would be bored and lost.

We don't have a computer or we'd send pictures.

We have to tell you what Gary and Judy say is real.

They take all their dogs hunting and camping. We were stuned to see the older dogs with the young puppies, and every thing in between. We watched them saddle the dogs with harnesses and back packs. All the dogs were excited and ready to do the job they were expected to do.

I have to admit I don't think I could ever handle the same senario but I give them credit for the experience they posess.

Each dog loves and respects Gary and Judy and I watched the organization of each dog. It's amazing to see the efficiency of the tracking and each dog immediately respects the other . Judy would say (Pack Mate).

I own one of their dogs and I have to say they are simply amazing animals

Everyone should experience owning a bloodhound at least once in their life time.

Thanks for the experience Gary and Judy

Congratulations on the new arrivals! Oh here we go...I so want another one of your dogs. Its like an addiction. I am SO happy with Teddy we bought from you. I've had many labs and my beloved Dozer was my favorite...but Dozer, please forgive me....TEDDY has taken the spot.

We have two of your dogs (Bones and Cheddar) They love to walk the beach too..The kids have fun swimming with them and of course like you say in you web site they love to participate. Our lives would be very dull with out the two rascals. They have become a huge part of our family. (No pun intended) Our Vet congratulated you on the breeding standards you hold. He says the quality of the dogs show the amount of time and money it takes to keep your Bloodlines strong.

We are grateful Thanks again

We have the most wonderful dog and we got her from you. and we see all the comments you get so we thought we'd add ours.

Our girl is an athlete, a boater, fishing dog, hunter, and comic. Never have we had a dog that can entertain us as much as she. We named her Hanna and she is extrodinary. She is great with the kids and they love her and she loves them. We saw the pictures of Flo and this reminds us of Hanna. She also waits for the kids to get off the bus everyday. She will wait patiently until she sees the bus and then she starts to bark.

Our first Bloodhound came from you. Do you remember we bought a girl then later a boy out of Axle he was the father of Clarence and Clementine was the mom.

They were great dogs both lived until they were old. We finally had them put to sleep

Because of the distance we soon replaced them with other bloodhounds from the south and we were greatly disapointed with our choice.

We never completely found the same type dog. As soon as these dogs are gone we are planning on coming back to you guys. We expect within this year. they are young dogs but nothing but health problems from the get go.

We discussed many times how healthy our other dogs were. Well expect to hear from us soon we want both a male and female from you.

Hello Judy

I want to thank you for our baby (born 12/26/11, we picked out the naughtiest pup of the litter, but we love her dearly. Last night I went to bed and there was a rawhide bone buried under my pillow, which is gross, but I thought it was so funny. We named our baby Abbegail, she has so many funny antics; if we have the milk out we have to be very careful, because she loves the covers, she grabs them off the table and runs just as quick as a wink. She is so full of energy, she comes up to you and grabs your jeans. She makes you play with her or she starts biting you.

My Husband has been gone to India and we feel very safe with Abby, if a stranger comes to our house the hair on her back will stand straight up and she has a mean bark, no one comes into the house until they have Abby's permission. She sleeps on the bed with me every night....I don't know if she will allow Dad back in his place.

We have spent thousands of dollars on this dog, but it has all been worth it. After we put up the 50' x 40' chain link fence, that she doesn't like, she starts eating shoes, hats, socks, gloves, dining room tables and chairs, garden hoses, and yes, even money. I hope the chewing stage ends soon. She loves to dig big holes everywhere. We have 200 acres here that she loves to roam on. I pray she stays away from the road.

Hope you enjoy the pictures. Abby was 9 months old in the pictures and weighed 77 pounds. I think she is real close to 100 lbs now. I know I'm her mommy, but I think she is beautiful.

She is my pal I named her Reba and she is a great hunter. My dad and I go hunting all the time except when it's real cold. I got my first deer this year a nine point and Reba found him for me.

The kids at school are jealous because I have Reba and they don't . I think it's funny but I tell them they can have one too just call you guys.

My friend Jeffery from school goes with my Dad and I lots of times he's the only one I let pet my Dog when I'm hunting. Reba is a real nice dog and she loves to hunt for me. well I have to go to school I just though I'd tell you guys how she's doing.

One is a boy his name is Gus. (we call him Gussie) the other is a girl and her name Abigale ( Abbie for short).

I have taken them to school with me for different school projects and I wanted to tell you they are the best dogs.

I have won 5 different awards for their appearance and attitude towards other kids.

My teacher has asked me to bring them into our special ed classes to calm the kids and learn to read. It is very exciting and of course they love the attention.

I am now a part of our school programs for special ed and I hope to further my education in college.

I wanted to thank you for such special dogs and not only are they great in school but at home also..

Hi Again!

I wanted to send you a few new pics of the dogs. I took these pics about 2 weeks ago.

Odin is now 14 mos. and Frigg is now 10mos.

Yes they are extremely beautiful dogs; thanks to your wonderful breeding skills and knowledge with this breed:-) We still think that you are the best of the best bloodhound breeder that we've come across!

As you'll see in the pics, Frigg has lightened up alot. Instead of a full black saddle the top of her spine now has a 3-4inch thick strip of red from her head down through her tail. The sides of her still have black with quite a bit of tan/red showing through the black. She really is starting to come into her own these days. She's just absolutely beautiful!!! And yes extremely big boned. And talk about a sweetie; she is just a lover.

Odin of course...well what can you not say about him! I don't think a dog gets any better than him. From his looks to his personality he truly is the whole package!!! Now we're just hoping he starts to fill out with some more weight. Which I'm sure he'll put on over the next year.

I was able to find the fencing info on your web site. Thanks again for your help; and as always thank you so much for our dogs. We are so incredibly happy with them:-)

Hi Judy and Gary,

Well it has been 11 days since we got our little guy from you. We named him Jake Hayward Bates . He is such a good doggie, and so dang cute!! We took him to the park and that was kinda funny. So many new sounds. Bikes and people zooming by him. He would walk for a bit and then sit down as if he wanted to be petted. He loves playing with the other dogs that we know. I find it smart that he runs to the furthest point in the yard out where the trees are to go poopie. He has his own poopie land. lol He is doing great and we'll be in touch with ya. Here are a couple of pictures of him now.

Take care~ Tracy and Dave Bates....and Jake too.

Hi Mountain Crest

We live in the greater Detroit area and as you know there is a lot of crime seems every day there is something we hear on the news.

It 's sad the city is so broken and in despair and we hope everyday it will soon see the end.

But our story isn't about the area so much but about our Darby he is the best crime detective we  ever owned.   He has solved many small crimes mostly due to squirrels steeling something out of our shed.  But the other day he actually witnessed a crime of a break in at our neighbors home.  We didn't know what was going on at the time but Darby did and he put up a horrendous racket. We were tired this evening and didn't give Darby credit for trying to tell us he knew what was happening.  The next day police came to our door early and asked if we had heard of anything in the night next door.  We said our dog was excited and did a lot of barking towards the area but we gave it no mind thinking he was barking at a squirrel told him to quiet down and finally he did but acted very uncomfortable and restless wanting to keep going outside.  Darby heard the police and he came into the room.  The police asked if he was the dog that we were talking about and we said yes .  The police gave us their cards and said they were going to keep in touch and asked if we knew the law about Bloodhounds? and we said yes our Breeders told us.

So now we may be asked to take Darby to Court as a witness.

We will let you know what happens.

Mountain Crest Bloodhounds

She enjoys rides in the car as well as swimming at our lake cottage, she is a natural at that.

Sincerely,

Donna Magalski

p.s. he is the puppy that made Animal Planet's 50 most adorable puppies.

We have two of your dogs (Bones and Cheddar) They love to walk the beach too..The kids have fun swimming with them and of course like you say in you web site they love to participate. Our lives would be very dull with out the two rascals. They have become a huge part of our family. (No pun intended) Our Vet congratulated you on the breeding standards you hold. He says the quality of the dogs show the amount of time and money it takes to keep your Bloodlines strong.

Hi my name is Duncan and I am 9 years old. We bought our dog from you a long time ago maybe two years now.

Mountain Crest Bloodhounds

Sincerely,

Donna Magalski

p.s. he is the puppy that made Animal Planet's 50 most adorable puppies.

God Bless

Shannon Wood

p.s I almost forget to tell you his name?Neeson Augustus Wood! J

We love her she is inquisitive and charming. There is never a dull moment.

She is used to the snow in the hills and she barked at the wolves calling already.

Just wanted to say this to you and we really enjoy your Web site. Thanks.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

We read your stories every day and the last one about teddy is so sad. We are glad he recovered and is doing well he sounds like a sweet dog. We would be devistated if something happened to our Lacy. God Bless Teddy's family for their love and best wishes to them for a better New Year.

Travis is an awesome dog and we love him so much..

Now reaching age 15 and still going strong wanted you to know we never fixed him and he is tumor free and no cancer and a lean machine.

Thanks for posting your experience of the health of a dog in tack

Untill this fall folks

Hi my name is Duncan and I am 9 years old. We bought our dog from you a long time ago maybe two years now.

Nice to talk to you

My name is Elisa my parents bought two puppies from you last June and they told me to write to you and tell you how much we love them.

I started reading all your comments years ago and thought you were a large breeder but I soon realized you have been breeding these dogs for 35 years and now I think where are all the stories?

I can't imagine the years of dedication it has taken to hold a terrific bloodline like you do. My hat comes off to you. It shows in the quality of your dogs and the years of business you've held. Again I say Bravo!
