I hope this finds you well! I thought I would share with you a little update on Kale. He turned 1 yesterday! He is a very loving, energetic, goofy pup! He absolutely loves his Basset Hound sister. His favorite thing to do is play and hog all your attention. His favorite toy are my socks if I don't get them locked away fast enough. He is a handful, but he being nothing but joy to our family. Please enjoy these recent photos of him.

Take care!

Hi there,

I just wanted to send you an update since it has been quite a while. We got Sadie Sue from you 5 years ago and it has been a pure joy. We came across Otis just by chance three years ago. Turns out Otis grandparents(Bronson and Blue Bell)and father(Major Bronson's Blue Bully) came from Mountain Crest. Needless to say these dogs have brought a worth of joy and smiles and slobber. And we love every minute of it. Thank you for showing us the joys of the breed.

Hey! Ranger is getting so big! His favorite things are to play with his brothers Trapper and Duke all the time! He loved playing outside in the snow this year! Snowballs were his favorite! He has become into one big happy dog! When my dad goes anywhere he can take Ranger, he opens the sunroof in his truck and Ranger sticks his head out of it. It's pretty funny to watch it! He is quite the family dog and loves to be center of attention. Whoever walks into our house gets a warm welcome from Ranger. He loves talking to people and they all love it. Him and my dad are best buds and they have a nightly cuddle session on the couch every night before they go to bed. Ranger is one big hoot to have and we all love him to pieces!

I know it has been a while since I have updated you on our precious Kale! He is getting soooo big. 6 months and 75lbs of love! He is so clumsy and goofy! He cannot get enough of being outside! I can never get him back in the house ha ha. Two of his favorite things to do are chase leaves and dig holes!

He loves his Bassett sister so much. They play constantly. It's like all they do is play sleep play sleep oh and eat.

Here are some recent photos of our boy! We love him dearly!

Hi Judy!

It's Jill and Eric. We took "Eustice" the last male of the litter who came out here to SAN Fran.

Now COOPER, this pup is growing at a crazy pace and loves home!! He's such a sweet boy!! He licks us to death and sleeps between us. Something ALL of our hounds have done! He's potty training well and is getting spoiled silly.

Teething has begun which is hilarious because you can't take your eyes off him for a moment. We've crate trained a little - he does well with it- but we're home so much he usually just hangs with us. He comes to the local eateries with us where he's a star and is loving the fall hiking weather.

Thought you'd like some pics. Thanks again!! We absolutely love him and he seems so happy!

Hey, Judy!

I watch your website and saw you were moving... are you staying in the

area? Also been watching your puppies as love to see their pics. I might

have got the second one with that discount, but believe me Attila is worth

two!!! He is growing like a wild weed. He is a wild one. Super active and

into every little thing. We love him! He is a special one. Is there

anything I can do at this age to work with tracking? He uses his nose for

everything he does, but not sure how to encourage staying on a trail..... I

am going to try to attach some pics for you!

Let me know if no pics, and I will try again!

Hi Judy! Just figured I'd show you what Toby did last night! A friend got a large doe on our hunting property about 7:15pm, so we had Toby track it. Took just a couple minutes for him to find her! At 5 months old, we think he did great! He has been such a great boy, and he's getting so big!

Hi Judy,

As you can tell from my pictures I dearly love my Abby girl. The picture with her up on the perch is an old slide platform we had when the boys were little, but Abby perched up here about every day and so we left the platform and removed the slide, until she hurt her leg. Now Greg has taken the steps off so she can't climb anymore, but he is going to build a ramp for her.

The winter picture is up in the U.P.. We went snowmobiling but Abby had to lead the pack of snowmobiles or she was not happy. She absolutely would not ride in the cart behind. It did not work out so well, but we all had a good time watching her and then I took her in the cabin to rest so the others could actually ride. Ha!

I enjoyed talking to you this afternoon.

Have a good evening,

Oh man, shes great! She's catching on VERY well to obedience training so far. I've track trained with her one time but, really don't understand it, unless she was just too young or preoccupied to participate. Haven't skewered a bear yet but, it's getting colder so, he should be more predictable....1, 300 plus coming to my bait and he's the only one ive seen on camera so, it's a matter of time. I will save blood for Lucy and plan on doing the same with deer. On my next days off, I am going to find a roadkill deer and cut a leg off to drag for her. Hopefully she's more ready this time around. I figure, I'll start her on deer scent and really work her on that before moving on to blood, bears, and humans. Hot dogs are definitely the key! She is 99% obedient to here, look, and sit....and about 80% obedient to down, heel, stay, and place with hot dog bits in hand!!!! Now, I am hoping she will respond to the most important, find him, command in the coming weeks. Great to be in touch....

God Bless you guys, Eric and Heidi

Willy girl is 11 weeks old now and weighs 20 pounds. The vet and staff love her. One more round of shots to go. I hope the hunt went well! Get back to me when you can. Thanks.... John

Pastor Judy,

Sampson (sent to Maryland) had his first visit with the Veterinarian today and got a booster shot and a complete physical. He got all good marks for his physical. The office staff just loved him and wanted to keep him, they seemed to be taking longer than usual to get him checked out, hmmm.

The Dr. was very impressed with his constitution, and his breeding. I thought you would like to know that. This breed is extremely rare in this part of Maryland.

Everyone at my church is asking why his name is spelled Sampson, instead of the Biblical Samson. I don’t know that it matters that much.

I hope your Fourth of July celebration was joy filled and family oriented. Mine was.

Hey, Ranger is doing really good and loving this spring weather! Last time we took him to the vets he was 61 pounds! He is getting taller everyday and is pretty much the same height as our yellow lab! He loves playing in the mud and getting dirty but we don't mind that at all! Attached are some pictures of Ranger being a awesome puppy! The one with the glasses is him being sophisticated and the other one is him being a pilot! Didn't know that one dog could be both things!! We love him to pieces! He is one happy puppy!

He is one of those dogs that will always put a smile onto your face every morning that you wake up. I just got back to school after have a week vacation and Ranger was there everybody to come into my room and give me those wet kisses of his. He has turned into such a great dog. A couple of weeks ago my dad took him out on his first day of tracking and he said that he was amazing at it. He picked it up in no time and was loving every minute of it. My dad is really excited to start tracking on his own and Ranger is the perfect dog for it. He is going into a really big bloodhound but that's how he is supposed to be so we are just amazed how fast he is going. His nose does get him in trouble sometimes but we know he is just doing what he likes to do. My grandmother and I are very happy with the puppy that we picked out. We are very lucky!

Hi Judy and Gary

Recently I took a friends of mine dog to her Vets office for a complaint about a limp the dog had, I entered the room and the Vet and his assistant (whom was Male also) proceeded to concur with each other about the dog. Well she certainly needs Xrays so they called the Xray tech took the dog to lab.

Minutes later they reentered the room, The Vet said to his assistant, "Did you see the Horn of the Uterus?"   Yes he said, It is very large and this is causing trouble. The dog needs to be spayed imediately.

I said wait!  My friend is not interested in spaying her dog, she is concerned about the limping.

The Vet says  " Well in due interest of the pets quality of health she needs to be spayed, then we can deal with the complaint on hand.

I was in shock so I called my friend and asked her what her decission was, She said leave the office now, so I did.

We collaberated with your Vet , This is what he said, " Your dog is lame due to dryness of cracked pads, Put a little Vasoline on her daily and she will come out of it in a week or two.

We did as he advised and she did heal.

Thanks for your article written about lack of hormones etc, if we hadn't read about the warnings of this first,  we surely would have taken the first Vets advise.

After concuring together of course the dog has a large Horn in her uterus or around it whatever, she is a breeder female and this is a natural event for every dog who has ever had puppies, she is a healthy girl with normal dog history.

We called you Vet and thanked him for telling us the plain truth.  We also wanted to help anyone who is dedicated to their Vet .  If they are telling you to do something you feel is wrong get a second opnion.

Hi, Ranger is the best dog possible. He just loves everybody when they come over to the house. He loves going to rides and we always get compliments about how beautiful he is. My grandmother is doing really well. She thinks of you often and wonders how you and your family is doing. My dad can't believe how fast Ranger is growing. He is going to be the perfect tracking dog for my dad. He loves retrieving outside with anything that we throw for him. He loves playing in the snow and sometimes we throw snowballs at him but he hasn't realized he can't actually bring them back. The other day when I was home I made a snowman and of course I put sticks on for the arms and little rocks for the eyes and buttons and a carrot for the nose. When he went outside to go pee, he was more interested in the snowman and was trying to take the sticks out of the snow but he wasn't able to but was even funnier was he jumped right up on the snowman and grabbed the carrot and ran off with it. Such a carrot hound. He ended up loosing it in the snow and it was pretty funny watching him stick his head in the snow trying to get it back but he couldn't. He definitely entertains us. I will keep updating you with Rangers progress and all the cute pictures that I have of him.

Take care,

Dear Judy And Gary,

I just wanted to take a moment at this busy time of year to wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a wonderful and Happy New Year.

Chisum and Rietta are doing wonderful and they sure are a joy to have around. I was worried about how they were going to treat the Christmas Tree but so far it is still standing. They have been really good about leaving it alone. We have been getting a lot of snow this past couple of weeks so we have been really busy plowing out everyday. Chisum and Rietta love to play in it.

I'm sending you a few pictures of the two and of course I couldn't resist a Christmas photo. I don't think that they were too happy about it, but we got it done. Anyways, we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year to come. May you have Love, Peace, and Joy now and always. Thank you for such wonderful dogs and best of luck in the 2016 hunting seasons.

Hi Judy and Gary,

I just thought that I would drop you a line and let you know that Chisum and Rietta are doing wonderful both are growing like weeds and maturing into fine dogs. We went elk hunting these past two weeks and managed to bag two fine elk. The dogs were with us but unfortunately the elk died in their tracks so I was unable to use them for tracking wounded game. I did let them see the elk so they know what they are to track in the future. Both were really interested and very excited about the whole thing.

Rietta got to see her first snow and had a great time playing in it. She sure is growing into a really nice looking Bloodhound. Chisum is as goofy as ever but he sure is a good boy. They both get along good together and I can't wait to get them out on the trail together. Like I said before you guys raise some really fine quality hounds and I am proud to own two of them.

I hope all is well in your part of the world and that you are both in good health. I am sending you some pics of our elk hunt and some of Chisum and Rietta. Take care and thanks again for my two wonderful dogs.

We purchased our puppy from you in Sept 2015. Imediately when we  got to the airport the excitement our family felt was unmistakeable. We got to the Cargo area and the kids were beside themselves. as the crate came down the rollers an attendant was there to asist. We could hear the puppy which made Jennifer our 9 year old daughter laugh with more excitement. We opened the crate door and there was our wrinkled baby.  She was the best delight we have ever seen. She acted like we were the family she was waiting for all her life.We are so impressd we wanted to share with you and others . She has exceeded every expectation we ever imagined.  Thank you so much for our baby girl Lindsey

Thanks for your effort of Bloodhound Rescues. We watch your website and we believe you make a serious effort to find loving homes with these dogs. Not only homes but the extreme amount of time and expertise to retrain and train in order for the animal to have the privlige of all types of rescue options. Most facilities adaquate for adoption animals are just facilities. Realization of the needs of each animal is minimal.

You seem to make all effort to place this animal in appropriate situations for both dog and potiental family even requiring training.

We sincerely take our hats off
